A
mandatory meeting point of creativity and talent for architects, interior
designers, decorators, plastic artists, art lovers in general and especially
for altruistic people, was the opening cocktail of CASACOR 12012 PERU, held on
Monday, September 25 at Casa Mujica and D’ Pardo, in the historic centre of
Lima.
The cocktail, carried out since the
first edition of this great annual design and decoration exhibition, was in aid
of the Centro Ann Sullivan del Peru (CASP) to raise funds for education of our
low-income students in order that they can learn to fend for themselves and
become independent, productive and happy.
Dr. Liliana Mayo, founder and general
director of CASP, Miki de Romaña and Ximena Salmón, the former and current
president of the Support Committee, respectively, and some of our students,
among other authorities, were responsible for welcoming all those present to
the event.
On this occasion, the 17th Edition of CASACOR moved to the
Historic Centre of Lima, where 52 rooms of decoration, design and landscaping, which
add beauty to the 4,000 square meters of the Casa Mujica & Casa D' Pardo,
may be visited.
Since
1996, the Ann Sullivan store takes part in this event and offers original
decorative and utilitarian objects of exquisite taste for sale to the visitors.
These ones include the Poland-made Borowski glass pieces and works of the
renowned plastic artists Mariella Bohl, Chichi Uccelli and Jessica Rosenberg,
ceramic from Kamminno al sol and Kus Art, among others. Also, ornamental plants
such as the original and exotic terrariums and real orchids are exhibited.
